I think I have an idea that I will want to try and work with. I need to know which you guys prefer though. MW2 class system, or BF class system. MW2 would be rewritten better and include some custom BF weapons, BF would remain the same. Anyways, that's what I'm talking about whenever I am saying I want to make MW3. I plan on redoing the class system in BF a lot and editing the level requirements a lot to make it more difficult (maybe twice as hard, or more). Without tiers, it would work a bit better though I think. Anyways, this is the additional idea...

Okay, so this game came out called Medal of Honor, most people will say mostly that it was a CoD ripoff, but it gave me an idea. Basically, instead of killstreaks, I want to make a points system. You gain points by killing players, doing assists, and capturing objectives. These points accumulate, but reset every death/spawn. You can then spend these points in the shop on some different things (maybe more experience is an option also). There are two basic options, offense and defence. Offense rewards will give you mortars, airstrike, and whatnot. Defense rewards will give your TEAM bonuses like UAV, extra ammo, and more armor.

Now this idea is very team-oriented, but I think some of you guys might find it appealing. I'm a little hesitant to try it out because it seems very hit or miss, but would also play an interesting role in the gameplay. You can either save up your points for the next one up, or use it now.

Also, if I use a MySQL database (which would reset the experience for all), I would be able to host the same mod on different servers, but not save say... badge stats (I don't want to save EVERYTHING like this). The bonus here is that it wouldn't be BF gameplay, but maybe a zombies version where you still earn experience for your BF character, but it won't effect the badge stats (sounds like a fair trade-off, and you can really work the system).

sounds hax. But i doubt that it's even codeable to make etc Mortar, whatsoever

the game is all about sticking whit your team ( makes it much more fun FYI )

ohh and i never really got the cream in my panths like everyone else from the Battlefield server, i mean. i can get like max 9 kills and then im out of ammo and will surely die, mw2 is way more fun, the killstreaks unlimited ammo, perks, and good weapons that you have are in need of levels to get, so i will go whit MW2 def.

Anyway, I like the points thing, it sounds like how the mw1 mod was where you could choose which thing to use from your killstreak accumulated points, or is it different? It sounds like leveling could be grinding, and since I think most people got their levels on the BF mod through bots, maybe lower xp and stuff from bot kills? I think the bf2 server one time had it so bots gave nothing but that didn't go over well.

Battlefield was supposed to be more... realistic. I suppose the better way to give bonuses is in very small amounts to very specific things. There was a max ammo of 90 to start with, and then 30 more per machine gun badge, but I guess people don't understand that.

Yeah BF is in my opinion more realistic. I see people go 10:1 ratio in MW2 fairly regularly so you hear people complain about hacking but its usually just ak+steady aim perk+stopping power perk, which is what i use. Makes it almost easy. When I want back to BF on the other hand, I actually had to go back to concentrating on headshot accuracy, ammo management and tactics which in my opinion makes for a better gaming experience and better team play. I've never had a problem with ammo... Just use lmg for a while and level up to 4 or 5 pretty quickly and have over 200 ammo.

    Hey guys,

So I did some thinking with someone, and what if I redid base builder during this time. Like, I want to redesign it a bit (credits I mean), and make it so that credits work differently. This might take time because I would want it to work like a different mod though. Maybe we could some up with something that we can all enjoy. I may also be able to work in object rotations or something, but that's just a MAYBE there. What are your thoughts?

Object rotations sound pretty cool. You can make more house type but it is something that ppl will take advantage of by making wierd jump bases I THINK.

The problem with them though (which I've noticed before) is that the collisions are really bad and super easy to block by accident.

    No.

Would be a terrible idea imo.

We already have too many irons in the fire. Bf isn't finished, or at least not now people want it or how it was designed, and mwfII could use an upgrade or at the very least tweaking, and we've re done basebuilder god only knows how many times. It's time for something else imo. NOT saying bb could use improvements, but we need to focus on all the other things people are complaining about / unfinished things.

Also, on a sidenote, tf2 would be amazing. haha.

I will not remake MW2 because that was what BF was supposed to be. I would love to finish BF, but no players = no motivation. I'll prolly start looking into maybe that multi-mod idea because it sounds like it could be some fun.

This is what I have so far, and honestly, I can think up sooo many more. All of these games will be free for all style, and quick games. Everything will be small in scale.

    Man with the Golden Gun
One player will start off with a pistol that is golden and kills enemies in 1 hit. This pistol only has 1 bullet though, and must be reloaded after every shot. When this player is killed by another player, the gun is transferes to the killer, and the victim will respawn. Normal players will be given a pistol of some kind (most likely the USP or P228). At the end of the time limit, the player with the golden gun wins.

    One in the Chamber
All players will have three lives, and a handgun (USP or P228). This gun will have a single bullet and no extra ammunition. This gun will kill enemy players in a single hit. When a player kills another player, the victim will lose one of three lives, and the killer will gain a bullet. If a player kills another player with a knife, the killer will still gain a bullet.

    Gun Game
All players will start with infinite lives and with a tier 1 weapon. Players must kill one another to upgrade their weapons to the next tier. If a player is killed with a knife, the victim will go back one level, while the killer will not gain a level. You can only gain tiers by killing players with your current tier weapon. When one player reached the final tier and gets a kill, he is declared the winner.

    Sharpshooter
All players will start with the same gun and infinite backpack ammo. Every 30 seconds, the current gun will switch with a randomly chosen new weapon wich will be used. After 10 rounds or so, the player with the most kills will win.

    Mystery Gun
All players will receive a random weapon and every 30 or 60 seconds, a new random weapon will be given to them. The player with the most kills at the end of the rounds will win.

    Knife Mode
All players will be given nothing but knives and will have to kill eachother until the time limit is up. At this time, the player with the most kills will win.

    Knife Mode - Elite
All players will have a single life, and the last remaining player will win.

    Matrix Pump
All players will have very low gravity and be given a M3 pump shotgun. This weapon will have unlimited backpack ammo. At the end of the time limit, the player with the most kills will be declared the winner.

    Sniper Warfare (Awp/Scout game modes)
All players will be given a (Awp/Scout), and will kill eachother until the time is up. At this time, the player with the most kills will win.

    Sticky Grenade Madness
All players will be given a single grenade that regenerates once every 5-10 seconds. This grenade will stick to objects and/or people. The catch is that the only way to kill an enemy player is to stick the grenade to them. An explosion from a nearby grenade will not kill an enemy player.

It sounds like it would be fun as hell, and also easy to add new ones as we think them up. My only problems are 1) how will we generate profit to pay for the servers by selling admin?, and 2) how will this server remain fun and not become boring?

    "Sticky Grenade Madness"
    ....I could cry....

Ya, it would be pretty hard to know how this will go for how long but should definitely be fun for a while. But one thing that would help bring people back is if records could be kept for each of those modes, like how bf2 kept record of how many gold, silver, bronzes you got, there could be something like the medals at the end of the round. How would you go about it? Like have three rounds of the same mode or something then a random mode is chosen afterwards or a voted one.

Ok I don't want to beat a dead horse but BF has no players because most of the maps now in rotation do not have bots so there's 0 players in server. Plus the respawns and flags not working. If you add killstreaks to BF I will PERSONALLY find people to play in the server and donate if needed. I think 5k to get to lvl 8 is alot on some badges but I dont care, because the mod is so fun. I would also share a similar amount of enthusiasm towards MW2 but the main thing (if you ask me) is the health regen, which allows scores of 30-0 and such. BF is a more balanced mod overall and adding /ks just sounds epic. Thats my vote. (p.s. I will continue to play in and invite people to the MW2 server until /ks are added to BF or one of the servers takes over.) (p.p.s. They are both great mods)

I've started working on the multimod server, and I've already gotten most of the layout done. I mean, it was never a hard mod to put together, so I think it's worth trying. It will take over the BF server for now. Anyways, I will add in a few bots I think (because I don't have any mod ideas that have thing other then killing people). Right now I have a few mock mods in there, so we'll see what happens tomorrow. I'm thinking tomorrow I will go through what I have and make it look pretty Smile. After getting a couple mods in there, I'll have a couple real people try it out, and get their opinions so I can know if I should continue or quit.
