The Future of Hip Hop??
We all know Dubstep is gaining popularity quick, and for good reason as it seems to be getting better and better.. So the question is, will hip hop artists soon be rapping over these types of beats? Here's a brand new track by Ras Kass ft. UltraMi that does just that..

Re: The Future of Hip Hop??
The future of radio music maybe. I forget who sings the song and what song it is, but it makes fun of people rapping over techno beats and shit. Here's a real hip-hop beat

Re: The Future of Hip Hop??
^^^ Wow i never heard that one b4.. And calling Jay and Eminem sellout isn't far from the truth, Jay sold out as soon as he named his record album Rocafella Records, obviously named after the Rockefeller Tycoons. And Eminem sold out on his latest album which i saw as marketed towards twelve year old girls more than any other demographic..
I think the only ones i can say have stayed true are Nas, and fabulous(they never claim any gangsta shit and they always keep a positive message in their lyrics even when getting gritty), and Young Jeezy is actually a good one too. Jeezy says he makes his music for the streets, "Thug inspiration" he calls it. He doesn't care about the money, And he actually dealt with Big Meech and Larry Hoover instead of just rappin' about them like fake ass rick ross does. I hate that faker ross..
If you have not heard Young Jeezy's "The Recession" Album i highly recommend it. I hated all this new bullshit rap till i heard that album. Very powerful stuff in there to be coming from a gangsta rapper(or ex drug dealer turned rapper, w/e you wanna call him)
Here are some of his lyrics that i found particularly astounding from his song "Crazy World" on the "Recession" album.
(talking)
Oh oh this shit fucked up right here nigga,
Ain't no work, ain't no jobs, yeah we still got bills tho nigga,
Best believe nigga, but through it all what they want hommie, yeah?
(Breaks out into hook)
They want that young shit, that dumb shit, that where you from shit.
That ride around your hood all day with your gun shit...

Jeezy and Fabulous are the only 2 names that get any respect outta this whole topic. Nas is whatever, could give a fuck about Nas honestly. I can't listen to him, just not my style.

Jedi Mind Tricks is so pretentious. It bugs the fuck out of me. Mad respect for them, but quit acting like you're the greatest fucking philosophers of all time, cause you're not. There is criticism for every artist, nobody is perfect.

Yeah they are just over-educated idiots. They are retards that shouldn't have learned to read because they misinterpret 99% of economical and social problems. Same with Dead Prez. They try too hard. You're either smart or you're not, the words you use to describe what you're talking about are just words. Especially when you're incorrect -_-

Re: The Future of Hip Hop??
@Squareknot big ups to JMT, Army of the Pharoahs, celph titled, apathy, tonedeff, immortal technique, soul khan and the other talented rappers in the underground.
@Junk, you'll also noticed vinnie paz also raps about being in vietnam even tho he's obviously too young... alot of rap is posturing, claiming to be the best, etc so I take it as part of the act.
As for some of their conspiracy theories, yes some are more far fetched than others.
As for the future of hip hop, isnt this a remix anyway? i dont ever see hiphop and dubstep forming anything other than its own genre. Interesting post tho. I'm a big hip hop head n love discussing music

Vinnie Paz also says it's stories from his father. True or not, still don't even like him that much. I only fuck with music that I like and bitches like.

He never said that... N that's cool, I like lyrics like vinnie paz's that actually mean shit instead of hearing about ice n bitches. N tbh most girls have pretty shitty taste in music in my opinion...
Buy to each his own. So anyone ever heard of Immortal Technique? Soul khan has a pretty unique sound and is extremely talented battle rapper.

probably rappin about the state of tha nation. anybody that mentions government is the biggest sell out. I loved Immortal technique. Then i realized, THE ONLY REASON YOU CAN SAY WHAT YOU SAY IS BECAUSE OF WHAT YOU'RE AGAINST! Fail.

Re: The Future of Hip Hop??
He's saying our current governmental system (democracy) allows for freedom of speech where in other communist countries like China, his music would be illegal. So he's saying it's a fail to go against the same gov't giving you the rights to speak.
But here's where I disagree. Just because a gov't gives you the rights, doesn't mean you SHOULDN'T USE them because it would destroy the gov't giving the rights. Gov't becomes corrupted as our politics have become until it reaches a point where people will no longer take it and revolution will happen. I just think they saw it a few years before the rest of most people or Sheeple. Ron Paul is calling to eliminate an UNPRECEDENTED amount of the government and even among the extreme right wing republican camp he's giving them a run for their money. I mean corporations are people and money = speech? Anyone think thats what George Washington or Ben Franklin had in mind?
Doubtful
Well sorry for the partial rant^^ but I've spent alot of time analyzing alot of the artists songs I named and this is how I feel.
And to say you're a sell out to rap about the state of the nation is stereotyping and your actually stereotyping the ones that didn't sell out instead of the Revolution-peddling talentless.

^^ I'm still lost, I must be getting dumb or something.. And I don;t think our forefathers are very good examples of "Good People". Both Ben and George were Freemasons, and although that may not have meant much or anything at all at the time it still kinda ruffles my feathers.. Shit my Dad had joined the Freemasons while fighting the revolutionary war in Beirut in '78-'79. It doesn't mean much, but no one should join anything like that in my opinion. One Love!

FREEMASONS!!!!! FTW!!!! but i digress...the future of hiphop ? i dont think there is one...hip hop and rap have become almost indistinguishable...the last great example of hiphop i can think of is the black eyed peas before they all split up into seperate shit
