No more steam :(

ERROR
Steam.exe(main exception): To run Steam, you must first connect to the Internet.

I have uninstalled,reinstalled and repaired steam. Closed/disabled all AV/Malware software as well as disabling windows firewall(even though there were exceptions.

System restore will not work. Unexpected error, disable av software yada yada, no av software was running and I've tried from two seperate restore points...

Also tried deleting clientregistry.blob and spent hours reading through forums and searching google to no avail... It seems once people get this error it is rarely corrected and seems to be a different solution for everyone. If anyone has any ideas please help. Thanks.

EDIT: I have fixed the problem and after posting the solution to other people with the same problem I figured I'd add my solution to this post in case anyone comes to this in the future in search of an answer... (Copied and pasted)

So this is what I did to fix it: Go into windows firewall and delete EVERY exception attatched to ANY steam game, if your not sure, delete the exception, it will just ask for it again. Delete from both inbound and outbound rules any and all steam games. EVEN IF you disabled windows firewall, I tried that too for some reason it DOES NOT fix it. You have to go in and delete all of them yourself. I hope this helped. I know i felt pretty helpless reading all the forum posts so you can imagine how good it felt to solve it... goodluck (ps if this doesnt work I would recommend going to Start>run msconfig, check hide microsoft programs/process and disable all others, make sure you have a clean install of steam and ALL anti virus/malware/spyware program OFF. Then try again.)

Yeah I somehow got it to at least let me log in now... I don't think I could duplicate whatever I did for a million dollars... I changed so many settings from windows firewall, router and windows compatibility settings, disabled background programs, tried system restore as well as installed/uninstalled steam... I just hope I can play now. If you ever have this problem you can pm me and I'll try but mainly I'd like to say I feel so sorry for you and may god have mercy on your soul. I think the root of the problem was firewall settings... I've had the same ones for days though so I have no idea why it would just decide to stop working.

Oh yeah and I have to redownload all my steam content... Which is just time consuming more than anything until I realized all my .cfg files are gone
