holy shit, i live on peru where we also have earthquakes and tsunamis too i am really afraid sometimes, i live 1 block away from the pacific ocean. =(

They can't predict the time of the earthquake to a day, week, month, but I'm pretty sure they can measure the pressure between plates at various locations. Then they just compare it to the recorded pressure before earthquakes in the past. There are also cycles.

fucked up thing is my sister posted something on facebook about the tsunami and i replied "i win" on it... and when the sri lanka tusnami happened a while back i said i could be arrested for genocide on them hahaha
