Well, I sorta thought about it, and this is what I think. SWAT would be a nice interesting, and easy to make mod, but really, it's impossible to make it fun for a lot of people. Making a zombie mod is great because it attracts and supports many people. If I made the SWAT mod, it would only be able to support like 6v6 max because that's when the gameplay is at it's best, however, a zombie mod like the one I've thought of would be able to support 16v16 no problem if need be. I just like to think also about how much customization and individuality I can give these mods as well. SWAT mod would be at it's base, nothing more then a glorified fix mod of CS1.6 for CS1.6. It would essentially be the same game, so I would need one hell of a plan to make the gameplay or something that can keep people playing it for a while without it getting too boring. One idea is more maps, but let's face it, I can't make maps forever. The good thing about the zombie mod idea is that it can use any maps, and it can have a money system of sorts. Writing that I thought of adding in a money system for SWAT, but it's not fun when certain people have like every gun or a really good character and new players have nothing. SWAT would be basically a FY elimination mode server. Both mods do sound really fun, but we just have to figure out which one would last us in the long run.
SWAT
-easy to make (basically just normal CS)
-attracts normal cs players (CAL or w/e)
-fast paced, tactical gameplay
-would become predictable after a point
-timer system for who can breach and clear the fastest
Case Zero ZM
-not too hard to make (I already got code done for mods like it)
-could have a whole upgrades system (upgrading weapons ripped from DotD)
-a Gun XP mod, or mod where you can unlock new guns, or just choose them (whatever, already coded)
-lots of players can play, and lot's of players will like it (it's a zombie mod, they are proven to work)
-zombie classes that are special and custom to PCShop (good part of knowing how to code)
on a side note, I can also make new ones periodically and introduce them, classes available via upgrades/buying/admin
-defense system with infection mode makes players work as a team
-restricted ammo forced players to not just spray for a time
I'll add some stuff if I think it up, but I'll try and put what I think is important to know about each mod.
