Official word from admin is server is going down in less than 2 months so hackers aren't getting banned and you might as well not waste your time trying to level or fix or change anything cuz it's going down in 2 months... Oh well fun while it lasted.

yeah id like to know who said this because the only one who has the power to take it down is tirant unless there anrt enough funds to keep it up
and on the rare occasion that i play im still an admin in server and i will ban hackers

Hey guys, I just wanted to let you all know that PCShop is going to away for a while. I blame myself a lot because I haven't been playing too much, but it is what it is. So, I think we have one more month left on our servers, what I might do is shut them off now before the billing cycle in case we never need to run a server again, so we have that little extra money to have 1 server for a month or so. This forum will remain online because it's a free forum.

Now, here's what will be happening. I'm not going to stop making mods or servers for you guys, I just don't have the time to manage them. There will be servers for you to play. Basically, PCShop will be melded with a larger "community" of various clans called "Colosseum." This will mean that I can run these servers for you and help me test, as well as make sure mods I run will get a large number of players == you have more fun. I'm sorry this is happening, but decisions have to be made.

Those of you who wish to remain in PCShop and stick around, you're welcome. I don't really have time to stick around here and manage these servers and this forum though, so if there are people interested tell me. I'll still be here though. Believe it or not, I actually check the forums daily and have been for the last 4 years, I only speak when I feel the need to. So if someone were to take over PCShop, I will still stick around and help you, but I just don't think I will have the time to manage this 100%, especially when I start school in a week.

Once again, I'm sorry, and at this point, something like this can only help us . If you have any questions, just post them here. I'm tired so I'm going to go to bed, peace!

yes zillers tirant posted that bet that doesnt mean the server will close down someone can take over running it and he did not say anywhere hackers would not be banned

oh true. but then bullet maybe thought of it differently so yeah. I hope it's not going down, the partnership shall i say should be a boost to PCSHOP as well because many people still dont know of the MW2 server etc. At first they'll keep the server happy for a while

OK LISTEN UP. PCSHOP is not partnering with ANYONE, we shut down the other servers(BB and Mini games) and kept MW2 due to lack of people playing. It's true there is only two months left on MW2 server but our funds are not short cause of people who are willing to pay to keep pcshop alive, so in two months you can bet we will pay to keep the server up and running. Hackers do need to be dealt with so hopefully some of the admins who play regularly can take care of that.

After re-reading my post I could see how my rhetoric could be misinterpreted but I didn't mean an admin said less two months left and because of this hackers will not be banned, but I know for a fact {ipwn]cocaine_music isn't banned and I have demos posted as proof, not just empty accusations.

And it was Ki-Lier that informed me there is less than two months on the server, and what he actually said was that "he didn't feel like resetting his pword" for whatever he may have had to do that for to ban the guy, and that the hacker left the game anyway, and that the server was going down in less than two months also.

So I figured I'd post a thread and see what some of the other people in community have to say... Good to hear 5150kaboom, it's one of my favorite servers, and I agree there shouldn't be problems with funds, there's an open post right now with someone wanting to buy admin, and I've said before I'd buy perm spectate just to help keep hackers out.

Please Someone Ban cocaine_music, and I will go through the list of hackers and we can see who's banned and who's not.

^^ Thanks Tony, I know you're only trying to help so thanks for that. And posting demos of hackers are always MUCH appreciated. I'm not a ban manager so hopefully someone who is will look into those demos.

Ok I just talked to Ki-Lier. Apparently it was when Ki-Lier asked Tirant to reset his forum password that Tirant told him the server was going down in less than two months. So as far as why he would do this with people wanting to buy admin and people like me willing to donate, I'm not sure.

I just got an email from tirant and he said he didn't know people were still interested in that server and that it would be coming down "in the next couple months". He also said he no longer has the time to manage the server. I told him I'd be willing to donate as well and take on some management responsibilities as needed and I'm currently waiting on a response.

New people still come in and comment on how cool of a mod it is and I'd hate to see it disappear completely. I'm not too familiar with coding but my understanding is Tirant is doing stuff no other servers even come close to, last video I saw of what he was working on was "strafing runs" by machine gunning planes/helicopters (forget which). Really cool stuff.

Anyway I think we should figure out someway to let him know there are people supporting this.

I said:
"Just wanted to let you know I've been talking to people around the community and it sounds like a lot of people would donate what it would take to keep it up. Just let me know if there's anything we can do. Thanks again."

He responded:
"For now, there is nothing I really want to do about it. When I get time, I will finish up the MW3 mod I was working on and run it myself, but now there is just no time. I have started on the MW3 mod, and I have most of the internal structure finished, but I need the time to complete all of the individual features. I want to work on it, believe me, but I just can't get around to it."

Soooo I dunno about anybody else but I can't f--king wait to play that mod... Fun

Donate Button is up at the left hand side of this forum, it goes straight into the Server account funds. That's all we need to keep MW2 server going. That and Admins.
There's nothing much more we can do anyways because none of us have the coding skills that Tirant has. We should probably kick around the Pub idea some more in the mean time, that might be just what we need to get things going around here.

Well from what it sounds like, money donated will not necessarily go directly to keeping the server up, meaning I don't think it's like the server tries to take out x amount and as long as that available it stays up(at least based on the conversations I've had with tirant).

This is what he said before the email I posted earlier:

"I honestly didn't even know that people still played. The server is going to be taken down within the next couple months. I don't have time to manage it anymore. I really wish I did since there is so much I would like to do with it, but you're the first person to even show interest in months."

So then when I asked what we could do in the email in the above post he says "For now, there is nothing I really want to do about it." so between this and the other email that led me to believe it will come down in a couple months until MW3 is up.

Maybe if enough of us email him we can work something out? I haven't heard from Anon or Tirant officially post in forums on this so until that happens or I hear otherwise from them I would assume its coming down...

Actually from my understanding it does. If you click on the donate link you can clearly see that the link takes you to Game Servers website and specifically lists the server you would be donating too(which is the MW2 server) The account will automatically stay active and the servers up and running as long as there's is sufficient funds in the account. Anyone who knows for sure please correct me if I'm wrong.

Imo mw2mod was the best mod in cs, but everyone has their opinions
