A small favor perhaps...

Well for all of you who are reading this I'm kinda putting myself out there a little bit but here goes.

Back when my gf and I were 17 her Mom died.
Now, her mother died of a disease called ALS (Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis). ALS is also commonly called Lou Gehrig's Disease. In short basically think of a disease that slowly disintegrates the muscles all over your entire body until you finally cant walk, talk, swallow, and breathe. This happened slowly to her mother over the course of 7 years until it finally took my girlfriend's mother's (Pam's) life.

We are currently having a big fund raiser for our team to go and donate to the foundation. It's basically like relay for life only for people with ALS. And I've never really asked anything from you guys before... but I'm hoping that maybe some of you will help us out just this one time.

We're looking for donations. ANY donations at all...literally ANYTHING. Even tiny amounts go so far to help us. So if there's anything you can scrounge up, (even the change in between the cushions in your couch) and if you could find it in your heart to donate anything at all, it would help us so much.

I know what it's like to lose a parent, I lost my dad at the age of 9 to a massive heart attack. So I am asking everyone in this community as well, please donate ANYTHING if you can.

the closest person to me ive ever lost is my grandmother when i was like 20 so i consider myself lucky as far as that goes and would be happy to do what i can to help those i can. my thoughts and prayers will be with you and your girlfriend and her family.

On a different note, does anyone know about doing corporate matches with donations if you don't actually work for the corporation? It seems like all you have to do is put a company name and they will match it. Don't know if that's super shady though :/
