    Battlefield: War Bonds

    War Bonds
Most experience mods don't offer a feature like this, so Battlefield will give it a shot. War bonds is just a fancy work for CS ingame money. Money is still earned through killing other players, but it is also earned through capturing flags. In the near future, war bonds will be able to be used to purchase killstreaks, and advantages that will help you team (like a 4 person team of elite bots to kick ass for a few minutes). Currently, bonds can be used to purchase weapons and bonuses that may or may not be available to you yet. This currency system of course also drains in your money that is designated for random tiers, so choose wisely. Some weapons that are not available in the game to buy at a buyzone are also available here (like the fully powered AWP and grenades). Also available are bonuses that will last until you die or a new round starts. You can only buy one of each item per spawn, and bonuses have a cap (to prevent max level player from being even better). Below is a list of all current items:

I couldnt find a section just for general idea's, only the one for Tier ideas.

Reading the beginning gave me an idea with the purchasing the killstreaks that you may or may not have thought of. Right now, if what this system is from my understandings, is just the random gun from a tier. Well perhaps, once you do put in the KS's, you can add a random Killstreak with the purchase of a random Tier gun. It is only there for the one time and after used goes away.

Also while i was typing this, Perks came into mind. IDK if you plan on adding perks but if you do you could try something like that also, where with a random gun purchase, you get a random perk. The perk selection wouldnt be exactly like CoD : MW2 either. In order to get a custom perk, you would have to unlock the next Tier to get one perk. Once a player unlocks ANOTHER Tier, another custom perk would be added so you could either have 2 perks to choose from and only get one, OR You have the full list and only get to choose 2 perks. The perks dont have to be the same ones we have on the CoD : MW2 server, however.

When we already have badges, there's no point in having perks. There is a decent amount of overlap between those two ideas and even if we could come up with unique perks it would make people even more overpowered.

What I have now for the war bonds shop is more like a test to see how it goes. If it does well, and adds balance, and people like it, I will redesign it and finalize it.

can't really think of anything else that you'd want to buy... maybe mines or a "grenade pack" where you get all three... meh.

Will you be able to access this menu from anywhere? I could see people nade spamming their money away if they could keep buying nade after nade at some choke point.

Post by Silent Tue 22 Mar 2011, 1:57 am

yeah i agree with rad...but no one has thought about of doing that yet...since not alot of people know about the shop.....

but yeah i agree, the health bonus should have like a grading system... if you have like really low health then you gain like 50 health but if your full health, then you can only get plus 5 or something.... because for instance someone works really hard to get a flag, he kills 3 people but ends up with only 5 hp left.... then someone throws a nade from really far away and kills him when he was just about to capture the flag.... just saying so it could help out people in need when their health is low.....

camo is a good idea like for maps like boom trench.... like you the camo is different and changes when we go to a different map...so for boom trench once you stop moving and crouch down you look like one of those red bushes... that would be sick just saying..... and it would trip out alot of people

another thing is the perks yeah we really dont need them.... plus if we have perks then whats the point of the cod mod..... the cod mod would lose some of their players... just saying... we need two distinctly different mods......

thats all that comes to mind.....
wait.... for the shop..yeah like a new health thing to buy..... camo...... the nade pack sounds cool.... for like 16000- one minute of infinite amount of nades, 16000- like 30 seconds of infinite ammo, (you dont need to reload)
16000- super speed (help with knife kills) for like a minute
    etc etc

    ill think of more....

shop is definitely something you want to bind, which will help you buy faster.

Also by camo I meant bf2 camo where you look like your enemy, not the terrain lol though that may be kinda interesting

Perhaps a Satchel (bomb) worth like 3500 or something... blows up after about 10-15 seconds of being set. Also TnT that has a discharge (upgrade from Satchel) to be worth like 8000 or something. The command to set it off could be +discharge if u can make that work. Just bind a key to that to use... and if it wont work with that command then just make it a +use key... like what is used to grab pieces in BB

oh yeah! i forgot you could bind keys.... wait its been a long time...can you remind me how to bind keys again please?

ohh hahaha, i remember that, that tripped out alot of people too.... but yeah it was just a thought... so another idea would be for like de_dust...if you stop and crouch, you look like a box..... etc etc..... just food for thought.....

you can also do bind f "say_team /camo" for when/if that is added.

I don't know in old bf2 how often I'd see the enemy type /camo in all chat it was awesome.

so practically the formula is...... bind (then whatever letter i want or button) "say_team/ or say/ (whatever i want to type in chat)" then click enter??
