IDEAS TO REVIVE BF2

I just added in sentries - so much fun! Get $10,000 and type build_sentry in console, then run into it to upgrade it.

Anyone have any grand ideas to make it more fun?

this one is cool too - its like gears of war where if you get shot down to really low HP you have to have a buddy help you up, and you can use pistol from the ground LOL

ranks dont matter really, but like how about mortar bombs? some cool skins? possibly sprint? the best one is bringing Dave into the server he populates any server LOL. Tis true like in HnS people start playing when Dave is in or the D2 server as well

It's really just a matter of constantly attracting new members to keep the server going. It isn't fun if we just keep adding more and more things to entertain ourselves.

Furthermore, all these things will most likely have some sort of prerequisite that we all have long achieved but new members haven't. There can't be a huge disparity between new members and everyone else in the server.

Capture the flag?!

I agree with berry! We should move the flags around. People tend to camp the same areas, so for a few days while people learn new locations, there will be more unregulated killing action!

edit: i think you should also maybe make an option menu like there was in the old sniper mod where you can upgrade the awp. I know in bf2 now, especially since health is up to 130 (140 if you hit medic) one awp shot will most likely not kill a person. Maybe an upgrade will allow players to buy a barrett and get that one shot one kill thing going on again.

A little off-topic, but I think these ideas would help popularity throughout the community.

Across all, most, or some of our servers. Similar if not the same exact spam messages. Advertising /servers, a list of our mods, adding servers to favorites, join forums, apply for membership, admin/subscriber purchase info, suggestions/comments, useful commands.

BF2:
Aside from new maps and new flag positions.

Double xp weekends, every week, or often. (week on week off, or every two weeks, etc.)
New map voting system. (if possible)
Team balancer at round end. (if possible)
New badges/badge reset. (This may have been because of summertime, but it seemed when this was done before, popularity soared.)
Models/sounds/sprites
Custom pcshop labeled flags. (or switch back to originals)



For a larger idea, I'm not sure if this is possible or what it would entail/how the gameplay would differ or be set up. But how about a complete mod revamp, BF: Bad Company 2 mod or maybe another game? I'm sure this would require a lot of coding and work(More than I can imagine, I'm sure)

I believe the underlying problem with BF2 mod is the game is quite old. Look at CoD mod. You stick a new games name on a mod that is really just BF2 mod recoded to fit CoD's gameplay, and boom.

I like the buddy helping up part. It sounds like Left 4 Dead where your teammates can help you up after you have been raped by a horde of zombies.

I like the bfsuit is back in. But can the regen be removed? You become to good. I was called a hacker the other day cause of Rgen + protection + Camping and spraying from marketplace on italy into ct spawn

And they dissappear after the owner dies. Which I think is fine. But make them do 1 dmg but increase the bullets speed. The gun shoots very slowly

idk...i think the sentries should last an extra round (life? idk) or so. I can't tell you how many times I've built one then gotten killed before it even gets built. Or at least lower the money required. The 3 map rounds make it damn near impossible to get the 10k, and it's even harder to get 16k for the bfsuit

LOL - I slowed down the bullet fire because it had a 0.1 second delay between bullets, and it was impossible to kill. Now it shoots slightly faster than a scout, and does about the same amount of damage. I can speed it up slightly if you want, lol.

well i think more bots would be great but not so many ill say add around 3-4 more per team if that dont work out for other players keep it how it is in other bf2 mods i notived they have auto bunny hop and parachuts both of them would be good in that server some maps are made for speed and other maps that take damage such as awp_roofs and bf2_hills will be good for parachuts Buy_parachut would be cool and if u could add a bhop scrip to the server i think that would be pretty good also i was thinking of another weapon u can buy for like 7500$ /buybazooka with 5 shots 3 are normal shots 1 is guide shot and another shot would be a homic shot like it follows the targ until it hits a wall or somthing? <3 if u can try to add /buyrockets for like 1500$ but i doubt it would work the rocket's would only count as the normal shots if u had the bazooka

i like the rocket launcher idea its very nice
if you want parachute....you most likely need that extra 4 jumps (3 in mid air) to make it any useful
and yes i really want that 4 jumps

id say double jump or parachute would work out fine :p

I think it would be ''cool'' if the flags were in different spots each round just to keep it interesting.

Also i'm not so sure about that 4 jump as i mentioned in another post, that seems like it would get pretty crazy.

BF2 Suit! lol

You still want it to be counter-strike though. Not a full game conversion. If you want the server alive get rid of the bots. People right click and view server info, and see 8 people with the same game time and dont join because they know its bots. <3 this server. Good enough to keep me here 3 years.
