That's not completely accurate because Source is actually better than 1.6. There's more people playing source than 1.6. Source is ranked #5 while CS CZ & 1.6 is ranked #23 on Xfire.com. The VAC secure system for Half-Life based engines have not been updated for more than a year, so you were able to ban a lot of hackers. On Source, there's less hackers because the VAC is always kept up-to-date. This is another reason why people are playing source rather than 1.6.

I honestly think in my opinion is that 1.6 is better as of gameplay with fun-o-meter lol cause it seems like there are alot of kids no offense that play source and well 1.6 is just plain fun lol. But idk thats my opinion cause I'm a hardcore 1.6 fan since its where it kinda all started other than the older CS versions.

1.6 is a bit harder to aim and get head shots. Source pump shotty owns with one shot every time lol. I used to play source for competitive play. It's much easier to aim and get head shots in source. I like 1.6 personally better because its the closest thing to the original game.

everyone that plays source is like 14. That's why its popular, cause they never even played 1.6, or 1.5.
