    Hello all your favorite Anon here,

    Here, in this topic / blog, is where I will try to keep most of my thoughts / ideas and action logged here. As in, what I do, when I do it, and what I think and when I think it. As I said before, I will TRY to put everything here, but I may be too lazy, and may just forget, or may just not care at the time lol. But for the time being, I will do my best to update this regularly to keep people informed of server / forums changes. This way we all have a feel of what's getting done / whats thought about, whats in the works, and what's on the drawing boards and what's not. Feel free to comment in here, but please DON'T spam. Only comment if you have some constrictive criticism or useful / positive comments.


    Right then,

    Let's get started:


    January 5th 2011:

    Added the new map de_aztecka (Link for DL: http://www.gamebanana.com/maps/143674)for testing purposes and added some spawn points to CSDM. I want to see if people like the map. If they do, I'll add bots /flags, but for now I'm not gonna put all the work into it if people don't like it.

    Developer Notes:
    -Probably add more spawn points as it goes / testing progresses / if I get positive feed back on the map.
    -Add bots / flags if I get positive feed back about the new map.
    -Added some additional spawn points on de_skidrow.
    -I will be changing the mapcycle of the server to better incorporate custom to default maps. In other words, there will be a default map like de_dust2 to be played, then it will change to a new, custom map like de_aztecka, then back to a regular map like cs_office. Just to keep things spiced up a bit.

    Other Notes:

    -Possibly will be adding another map or two shortly here in the future.
    -I will be adding new / additional spawn points to maps as we go, to try and break up the spawn killing / monotony of spawning in the same spot every time. I'll try to keep a record of it here.

    EDITS:

    -Added more spawn points on de_aztecka as well as added flags.
    -Added additional spawn points on the following maps:

    *fy_encounter
    *fy_desert
    *de_skidrow
    *de_dust
    *de_aztec
    *cs_office

    -I will be adding de_aztecka to the regular map cycle now that it has the appropriate flags. As stated before, bots will come with positive feed back.

    Also I want to give a big shout our to MTS who helped a bunch with spawn placements as well as flag placements on de_aztecka. -Thanks man Happy

    -I also remove pd_villa from the map cycle due to constant negative feed back.

    I wanted to throw this out there to sort of break up the "seriousness" of the maps (imo) I'm thinking about adding a de_rats map. Probably one of the originals, and I would appreciate feed back in the map thread: http://pcsgaming.forumotion.com/t2896-possible-new-map

    Remove 007 library, it has quite a negative response from all the players whenever I'm in server and it changes to that map.

    I've done a view votes on whether or not people like maps, especially when we play the new ones.

    People love aztecka and repub had great reviews, where well over half the people in the server voted in approval of the map.

    As for 007, it's been mixed but never over half. Perhaps take it off of the automatic map rotation for now and we can test it out once in a while and see people's reactions.

    January 8th 2011:

    Well good news today, I completed two maps and got the functioning on the server without too much pain. There really isn't too much left to do (for the next couple of days perhaps if I'm lucky lol) other than add additional spawn points to some maps and perhaps adjust de_nuke's flags and maybe one other map's flags.


    To Do:

    *I will take another look at snow2011 although I still think it will be imbalanced, but I will give it a second look.

    *Fixed the issue where bots won't allow players to join the server when full. (This should be fixed, let me know if it isn't.) -Sorry it took so long to fix this, just a newer version of pod bot's .cfg I wasn't familiar with. After a bit of studying / reading up I believe the problem's solved now.

    *Added a few bots to the server ~8 bots in the server now as opposed to 6
    *Added map de_westwood

    The one in BB isnt working. I cant gag anyone i tried with ppl in here and nothing and i cant gag myself either.

    March 1st - 2nd

    I installed and (more importantly) got working a redirect plug-in that ties into all the pcshop servers (minus the firefight one since that's largely still in progress).


    I'm not gonna lie it was a bitch at first, I even messaged tirant about it, and he even said "that plugin is sort of fugly to get working"

    Tirant eventually went to bed due to class in the morning, but I couldn't have got it 100% w/o his help. So I'm sure you all can only imagine what that plug in was like... lol


    But anyways, so now all you need to do is type /server to jump between our servers and it will bring up a list of available servers stating the name of the server, what map its on, and how many people are on it.


    I also enabled /follow so if you see someone jump to a server of ours that you like, just simply type /follow and viola.

    There is also a re-direct que that (if a server is full) you will have the option to join. The que is a list of players who want to connect to the server, but can't because that server is full. Once a free spot opens up in the server, people will be automatically redirected there in the order they joined the que (list).

    [NOTE!: You will not have the option to join the que (aka you won't see it) if the server is not full! The que only becomes available/seen once a server is full.]







    Additionally, I'm pretty sure I got the jailbreak fast dl server working for fuzzy, so maps and what not should not take so long now. I dled a couple maps in about 30-40 seconds each.


    I'm also looking at maps / taking suggestions for maps on CoD, however, as I stated in another thread the only problem I foresee is that people will complain about having too many maps like last time and so they won't get to play their favorites.


    That being said, please feel free to suggest some maps in the cod section and I will try and take a look at them.

    Well it's been a while since I've actually updated this so it's def. time to blow the dust off of the books. If you haven't seen my posts about the community and servers you can find them here (on pages 2 and 3) :http://pcsgaming.forumotion.com/t3518p15-cod-mw2-server-discussion


    But TL;DR (in short): PCSHOP is NOT going anywhere. We are not merging. The servers ARE staying up and there will be improvements (as stated in my posts.

    Mostly and foremost on the list are:

    1) I will add the /spec thing when I get back from the holidays (tonight or tomorrow) because I'm tired of people complaining and I think it would just be easier for everyone involved.

    2) I will def try to get some new maps up now that i'm back at my computer. Gotta get back into botting and what not so the bots are correct and that all takes time but it shouldn't be too long.

    3) Also, I'll try to find a decent voteban votekick plugin and try to get it running in the server so when there's no admins around and hackers / trolls you guys will be able to at least temporarily do something.

    So keep looking around for updates (as always I will post everything here) so be sure to subscribe and keep an eye on what's happening with PCSHOP. Don't be afraid to post comments / suggestions here or make a topic related to such.

    Worked with tirant for a bit tonight. /spec /unspec should be working now to all users. Took a small rewrite but it should be working now. Let me know if it all works out.

    Next on the list is a decent votekick / voteban plugin. I'll do some research.

    Also. Just installed a voteban plugin

    to use:

    /voteban or .voteban

    choose player.

    I do believe I have the percentage set to 60% of players needed to voteban someone.

    Voteban time is 100 mins.

    If it isn't 60% it's 80%.
