    I was sorta thinking out loud with Gomer about another possible idea, and he was throwing some ideas out there, and I came up with this. It's sorta a branch off of both Z-Day and Barricade. Anyways, the background of this mod is a free-roaming zombie infection. What that means is that there are no real boundaries, other then what you make. The good part about that is that it makes it able to host any kind of map. So, now we come to what the mod will be like. Basically, the initial idea is to make both teams spawn like normal with pistols. Throughout the maps will be CSDM item mode style weapons on the floor, as well as ammo that will respawn periodically. The idea is that everyone will sorta split up and create their own sectors/bases that they will sorta roam around. Now, what is going to happen is players will be able to summon walls or objects, or maybe buy them to create some sort of limit to barricade and put some sort of defense up. I'm not necessarily sure how it will work 100%, but maybe this will become a sort of defense and attack mod. Zombies will probably be able to respawn, and also have a class system with all my lovelies in there. Maybe I can make it so that the zombies have a sort of generator that allows them to respawn, and players want to destroy that, or while near it they gain something, or maybe players have to defend their own generator. When a zombie dies, players will receive some sort of bonus, and the player with the most kills or whatever will receive a reward.

    -Zombie classes
    -general defense against (hopefully) intelligent zombies
    -restricted ammo forces players to work together to run and get ammo
    -items to boost both sides
    -barricade system (i don't really want to make base builder, just a system for establishing a ... barricade)

    I think my previous idea may be what I go with after I think it out a bit more. I just want to create a mod that can hold my attention span.

    Heres a few extra ideas for the swat mod...

    Maybe have it class type

    Sniper / Captain / etc etc

    1 sniper / 1 Captain / X Swat members - per map

    And should have portals at start of spawn, each portal is a class portal
    (i.e. Sniper Portal gives you Awp/scout/semi-stealth.... Swat member portal gives you M4a1/stun grenade/ battering ram)

    After entering the portals, they would spawn near a bunch of cop cars and swat cars with their fellow team mates.

    Map could be small city or a house in a residential area like hide_n_seek(2)
    have doors that are breakable and windows that are smashable but not enterable.

    Gameplay would realism type where gun shots do more damage no matter gun type. Untended wounds slowly kill a player and slow movement if shot in the leg... insta kill if shot in the head...

    Homes or T bases will have bombed traps and secret spots for hiding (Hidden closets, loose floorboards, etc etc)

    I love the idea of swat mod, especially since streets did a great job of making a visual for us.

    Well, I sorta thought about it, and this is what I think. SWAT would be a nice interesting, and easy to make mod, but really, it's impossible to make it fun for a lot of people. Making a zombie mod is great because it attracts and supports many people. If I made the SWAT mod, it would only be able to support like 6v6 max because that's when the gameplay is at it's best, however, a zombie mod like the one I've thought of would be able to support 16v16 no problem if need be. I just like to think also about how much customization and individuality I can give these mods as well. SWAT mod would be at it's base, nothing more then a glorified fix mod of CS1.6 for CS1.6. It would essentially be the same game, so I would need one hell of a plan to make the gameplay or something that can keep people playing it for a while without it getting too boring. One idea is more maps, but let's face it, I can't make maps forever. The good thing about the zombie mod idea is that it can use any maps, and it can have a money system of sorts. Writing that I thought of adding in a money system for SWAT, but it's not fun when certain people have like every gun or a really good character and new players have nothing. SWAT would be basically a FY elimination mode server. Both mods do sound really fun, but we just have to figure out which one would last us in the long run.

    SWAT
    -easy to make (basically just normal CS)
    -attracts normal cs players (CAL or w/e)
    -fast paced, tactical gameplay
    -would become predictable after a point
    -timer system for who can breach and clear the fastest

    Case Zero ZM
    -not too hard to make (I already got code done for mods like it)
    -could have a whole upgrades system (upgrading weapons ripped from DotD)
    -a Gun XP mod, or mod where you can unlock new guns, or just choose them (whatever, already coded)
    -lots of players can play, and lot's of players will like it (it's a zombie mod, they are proven to work)
    -zombie classes that are special and custom to PCShop (good part of knowing how to code)
    on a side note, I can also make new ones periodically and introduce them, classes available via upgrades/buying/admin
    -defense system with infection mode makes players work as a team
    -restricted ammo forced players to not just spray for a time

    I'll add some stuff if I think it up, but I'll try and put what I think is important to know about each mod.

    for swat mod if possible opening the maps up and just copying them to make it like 2 in one? therefore instead of 6v6 its gonna be 12v12 (6v6 on each side of map)

    Its possible but probably going to be too hard. Just adding that on for extra ideas

    In my opinion, they most addicting thing about a mod is any type of RPG element. People have spent hours grinding just to get expert sniper badge... I have.

    I don't feel the same urge to get all the achievements with BB as I did in BF2 so there might be other confounding factors, but something like that always pulls me in.

    About SWAT being just cs1.6 i kinda realized earlier that it would be essentially the same thing as you say. If the rpg elements are interesting enough then maybe something with that? The trick there is always make it fun no matter how far along the unlock chain you are (for example many superhero servers are boring as hell the first 10 levels since you have no good heroes and everyone else is going past you at 2000 speed with their 100x mult knife.)

    Well, the good news about creating a achievements mod or something for the CZ ZM is that i've done it soo many times, it's easy, and making new ones wouldn't be much of a challenge for either mod really.

    I really think that playability is important, and right now, I just see czzm goin farther then the swat mod. I will make the swat mod also though. I just think that it wouldn't have enough features

    it might be fun for a select few of us to fuck around with haha. It's kinda like scrims you have to plan out the teams and talk as you do it. It won't work if its just 6 random people shooting at random stuff.

    It will turn out alright I think. I got some good ideas for this mod. I'll try and make it it's own mod instead of just a copy of like ZP. I'll really try and make it so that it's like you're survivors, and you can callin for help from like the military. So maybe that includes airstrikes from the MW2 mod, and I know I want to have like carepackage drops that you can call in and get more ammo or supplies from. The zombies side will also be fun because I have some really sweet ideas for them. I'll use my old zombies ofc, like the chainsaw, banshee, crawler, and the leaper. But I'll add some new ones like a boomer-style zombie, and a zombie that literally sucks the lights out around you and takes damage from direct light shined on him. Survivors will have health packs, propane tanks, nades and even flares to help them. I would like to also make the infection portion of this mod a bit different. Like create a anti-virus that you can buy or use. When you get attacked, there are two ways you can end up dieing, the first way is they beat the crap out of you, in which case you might die and respawn a zombie, or through infection which is when they would slash you and a poison would slowly eat at you, which you can prolong by healing, or using an anti-virus to slow it down/completely heal. Zombies will be pretty strong though, so in the beginning weeks of this mod, I will have to do a lot of balancing so they aren't too strong. Perhaps I an have an XP system for zombies to unlock new classes, or maybe leave a menu to just use any class. I will add secret classes only available through admin, or maybe attainable through selecting "random" class.

    Did I mention I'll try and add badass techno or other kinda beats for the rounds as ambiance?

    I figure it's about time I took control of the whole ZP market and killed off all those servers with one that kicks ZP's ass. I've always hated ZP because I don't like those kinda of zombie mods, and I find that the mod got killed because soo many people use it. I want to create this so that it isn't just the same old shit every round, I want every round to be a little different, so I'll also add in stuff like random events, which I may or may not elaborate on later. Time to make ZP my bitch.

    I got a few sounds you might be interested in. Want me to make another topic? they're not so techno or badass for like ambiance but a few sounds for like when headshot happens or if u mute someone and they still try to talk a funny ass sound plays to them

    Edit: How long can they be? I made a sort of techno remix myself.

    Okay, so I'll make a new topic when I am not too busy playing black ops describing this new mod more and the featured.

    Basically, for this mod, I'm going to add new kind of unlocks/upgrades system. It won't be anything like in base builder though. Essentially, every zombie you kill or task you complete, you will be rewarded with money (varying on the level of the player). Money can then be spent in the shop on things. The current idea for weapons is to create a stat system that gives each gun points based on kills. Now, the cool part is that instead of your character leveling up, your guns will level up instead. After a certain number of levels or experience, your gun will become unlocked into a new weapon that will be the upgraded form. These will obviously be good. I'm not sure yet if I will leave original guns available as well. Anyways, every gun upgrade will also increase damage or speed or certain attributes to the weapon.  An added bonus to this system is that I will allow people to also buy stats for their guns also using the money system. This can either boost your own stats for a gun, or you can use the gun you like and buy stats for one you want to use.  I'll also add modifiers sorta like in Nazi zombies where you can get like x2 money for a time and such.

    Zombies may also have something like this as we'll, but that is currently undetermined.

    Exactly how I said it would. I have already coded something that I can use. This whole idea is basically just a little different then the gunsmith from DotD, which I never finished over the summer.
